Indonesia is blessed with abundant natural resources and industry that processes agricultural and animal products for domestic consumption. The organic waste from these industries have the capability to meet Indonesia's energy needs as well as fulfil the nation's Climate Change goals. BioMethane production from agricultural / POME, dairy / cattle farm and municipal waste has the potential to become a major substitute for Indonesia's imported fuels such as Diesel and LPG. Waste to BioMethane
Biogas is naturally produced from the decomposition of organic waste. This organic matter, which could be Palm Oil Mill Effluent, Corn / Rice / Sorghum Waste, Animal Manure or Landfill Waste breaks down in an Anaerobic environment, releasing a blend of gases primarily consisting of Methane (CH4) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2), as well as a high level of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). Biogas release to the atmosphere has severe consequences on our planet's Ozone layer.
However, if Biogas is upgraded to strip all impurities and produce high quality Methane it is called Biomethane or Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), which can effectively replace fossil fuels for Industrial, Power and Commercial applications, as a more economic as well as environment-friendly alternative.
